Palmer Pellham

Palmer "Spud" Pellham, 95 years, passed away on July 23, 2013 at Ozark Riverview Manor, Ozark, MO from a long illness with his family by his side.
Palmer was born August 24, 1917 in Hammond, MO in Ozark County to Samuel Matthew and Georgia (Griffith) Pellham.
Palmer was a resident of the Ozark and Sparta community for a few years moving from the Ava community where he lived for many years.
On October 2, 1937 Palmer and Clara Evelyn Ham were united in marriage in Davenport, OK and to this union seven children were born.
Palmer was a retired Logger and also worked for several years at Emerson Electric in Ava, MO. He was a Christian and a member of the Mt. Calvary Freewill Baptist Church, where he also served as a Deacon.
He enjoyed his extended church family, gardening, Cardinal baseball and his grandchildren.
Palmer was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Clara in 2002, twin grandsons, one sister, Ruth Frye and four brothers, Azel, Rolla, Burl and Lorne Pellham.
Palmer is survived by seven children and their spouses, Carol Imogene Roelle, San Diego, CA, John Curtis & Sue Pellham, Sparta, MO, Orpha Mardel & Harvey Scott, MS, Carl Azel & Debbie Pellham, Vancouver, WA, Beverly Sue & Mike Love, Moses Lake, WA, Palmer Leroy & Glenda Pellham, Kennett, MO and Darrel Dennis & Marilyn Pellham, Holts Summit, MO, 17 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren, five great great grandchildren, one sister, Chloe Wilson, Ava, MO, three sisters-in-law, Lois Pellham, Louise Pellham and Cleo Adams, and brother-in-law, Sam Frye, many nieces, nephews and a host of relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Palmer will be Sat., July 27, 2013, 2:00 p.m. in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, MO with burial in the Union Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday from 1:00 p.m. to service time in the funeral home. Officiating will be Rev. Donald Potter and Rev. Harvey Scott. Memorials may be made to Union Grove Cemetery.
