Obituary

PATRICIA ROSE MCANDLESS

Patricia McAndless, 86, of Gainesville, MO passed to heaven on November 22, 2013. She was born on May 24, 1927 in Lombard, IL, the daughter of Alvin and Rose (Baumbach) Dreckman.

On April 23, 1949, Pat was united in marriage to Glenn McAndless, and they shared a loving and devoted 62 years together, before Glenn's passing in 2012. When Glenn retired from the Chicago area, he and Pat built a retirement home on the family farm property, and moved here to the Ozarks in December of 1983.

Pat and Glenn joined the First Christian Church upon moving to Gainesville, and enjoyed involvement in the church functions, activities, and leadership roles. Pat was in the choir, taught adult Sunday school classes, and was the first woman deacon in the church. They felt very blessed to have their church "family" an important part of their lives.

Many people were touched by Pat's outgoing personality and many talents and interests, which included painting, writing, yoga, swimming, tennis, and playing golf with Glenn and friends at the Theodosia Country Club. Reading was another passion of hers, and she was very involved in running the Ozark County library for several years. She was a past president and very supportive and involved in the local P.E.O. chapter, helping young women fulfill their dreams of a college education.

Pat was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Robert Dreckman; and her husband Glenn. She is survived by her two children, Carol Cooper of Theodosia, and Thomas McAndless; two grandchildren Nicole Denny and Christopher Cooper; and was also so joyous over her first great grandchild, due in May. Pat also has a niece, Diane White, and nephew, Dale Dreckman, both of Gainesville.

Funeral services for Pat will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, November 29, 2013 in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home chapel in Gainesville, MO with John Wylie officiating. Visitation will be Friday morning from 9 a.m. to service time. Burial will be in the Gainesville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions may be made in Pat's memory to the American Heart Association. On line condolences may be made to www.clinkingbeardfuneralhome.com.
