1935-2009
Patricia Ann Rhodes, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and aunt departed this life on December 15, 2009 in Clarksville, Arkansas at the age of 74. Pat was born on February 25, 1935 in Honey Grove, Texas the daughter of Ira and Gordie Bee Temple.
Pat was united in marriage to Harold Rhodes on January 25, 1959 in Carson City, Nevada and celebrated 50 years of marriage for which she was very proud. She and Harold reared six children, one niece and two nephews and were like parents to many other individuals. Pat traveled and lived throughout the world as a military wife while her husband served in the U.S. Navy for 22 years. She was a homemaker, school cafeteria worker and mom to many. She was an elementary school volunteer for many years where she loved working with children. Pat loved to read, bowl, go to casinos, and spend time with her large family. One of her joys was cooking favorite foods for her family. Pat and her husband retired to Coal Hill, Arkansas.
Pat is survived by her six children, son John Dykstra and wife Emelda of Washington, son Jim Dykstra and wife Marie of Oregon, son Harold Rhodes, Jr. of Arkansas, daughter Patricia Walman of Arkansas, son Gordon Rhodes and wife Jodie of Texas and daughter Stephanie Barnett and husband Steve of Texas. Pat raised one niece, Trish Sotelo and two nephews Frank and Paul Sotelo when their parents departed this world. Pat is survived by 10 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. She is survived by Sisters Carol Ring and Sandy Reed and Brother Jim Temple and many nieces, nephews and friends. Pat and her husband Harold always had an open door for any child, friend, or family member that needed a home temporarily or permanently
Pat was preceded in death by her parents Gordie Bee Temple and Ira Temple, first husband Jim Dykstra, husband of 50 years Harold Rhodes, sister Joy Sotelo, brother Jerry Temple and nephew Frank Sotelo.

A Graveside Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, December 19, 2009 in the Pontiac Cemetery, Pontiac, MO with Jim Kyle officiating. Visitation will be from 5-7 pm on Friday, December 18th in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Gainesville, MO.
