Paul Cameron Martin, 75 years, passed away on December 16, 2012 at his home with his family by his side.

Paul was born February 27, 1937 in Marquez, TX to John "JD" and Cornelia (Pos) Martin. Paul was baptised as a Methodist.

On September 6, 1958 Paul and Sammie Lynn Trammell were united in marriage in Willow Springs, TX and to this union four children were born.



Paul received his B.S. Degree from Stephen F. Austin College in Nacogdoches, Texas. Paul and his family moved from Montana in 1976. He was an active member of the Ava community serving several years with the Lion's Club. He was a retired Forest Ranger for over 36 years with the U.S. Forest Service. He enjoyed hunting, being in the outdoors and watching sporting events, especially the Dallas Cowboys. He also enjoyed horses and was active with the Back Country Horseman, the Douglas County Horse Breeders Association, and the Missouri Fox Trotters Horse Breed Association. Above all, family was important to Paul. He adored and loved his family as they did him.



Paul was preceded in death by his parents and his father-in-law, James Trammell.


Paul is survived by his wife, Sammie Lynn Martin, Ava, MO, four children and their spouses, Michael & Dawn Martin, Washington, MO and their children, Seth, Abbey and Chloe; Jeff & Leslie Martin, Ava, MO, and their children, Josh & Amanda, Jared and Samantha; Lynn Silvey, Frederick, Maryland and her children, Stephanie, Alexandra and Elizabeth; and Nancy & James Lawler, Ava, MO and their children, Nickolas and Peter; two brothers, George and Pat Martin, Bullard, TX and James and Susie Martin, San Antonio, TX, one sister, Cora Ann Martin, Denton, TX; mother-in-law, Mildred Trammell, and many nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.



Graveside services for Paul will be Friday, December 21, 2012, 2:00 p.m. at the Oak Forest Cemetery, Norwood, MO (C Highway). Visitation will be Thursday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, MO. Officiating will be Pastor Oren Alcorn. Memorials may be made to the Paul Martin Memorial Scholarship Fund in care of Ava R-I Schools.
