Paul Pyles 83, of Tecumseh, MO, formerly of North Pekin, passed away at 4:30 p.m. Thursday Dec. 2, while surrounded
by family at his home.
Born March 22, 1927 in Eureka Springs, Ark to Henry and Mable Vanderpool Pyles, he married Camilla Spencer on July 01, 1950. She survives.
Preceding him in death were his parents, two brothers and one sister and one grandchild.
Also surviving are one son, Gilbert (Susan) Pyles, of St. Peters, MO.; one sister, June (Kenneth) Jones of Aurora, MO.; four grandchildren, and three great grandchildren.
He worked for Corn Products and Pekin Energy Co. for 37 years, retiring in 1989.
He devoted his life to volunteer community service as a Police Officer from 1961-1967, and Firefighter from 1967-1989. He retired from the North Pekin
Volunteer Fire Department after serving many years as Fire Chief. After his retirement he joined the Tecumseh, MO Volunteer Fire Department and served
there for another 21 years until his death, again serving as the Fire Chief for many years and having the Tecumseh Fire Station named after him.
He was a Sergeant-Artillery in the U.S. Army during the Korean War from 1950-1952.
He also loved fishing, gardening and spending time with his family.

Funeral services were held at 10 am on Saturday, December 4, 2010 in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home chapel, Gainesville, MO with Jeff Dotson officiating. Burial was in the Mt. Pleasant (Hog Danger) Cemetery, Tecumseh, MO. Visitation was on Saturday morning from 8 a.m. to service time at the funeral home.
