PAULINE MARIE SNELL

Pauline Marie Snell, 77, passed away Sunday, December 11, 2011 surrounded by her family. She was a long-time resident of Ozark County.

Pauline was born in Stark County, Illinois February 16, 1934 to Walter and Verda Storey. She had two sisters, Margie and Esther, and one brother, Marvin. Pauline attended Toulon Community Elementary School and graduated in 1952 from Wyoming High School, Wyoming, Illinois.

After high school, Pauline was working as a waitress when she met her husband, Eugene "Gene" Snell. The couple was married on January 25, 1958. After a few years of marriage, Pauline returned to Ozark County with her husband to be near Gene's family. The couple was blessed with five children; three girls and two boys. She was a loving wife and a hard-working and dedicated mother who tried to raise her children to be kind and decent people.

Pauline was employed as a Med-tech nurse at Heart of the Ozarks Health Care (formerly Chastain's Nursing Home) in Ava, MO where she retired after 25 years of dedicated service. Pauline enjoyed fishing, gardening, crocheting, and making quilts for her family. She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Pauline was preceded in death by her parents and siblings; her husband, Gene; and her oldest daughter Pamela Scanlon. She is survived by her children, Phillip Snell and wife Debbi of Brixey, MO, daughter Patty Watson and husband Corey of Highlandville, MO, her daughter Mary Polzin and long-time companion Eddie Barnett of Ava, MO, and her youngest son Earnest Snell of Wasola, MO; nine grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.

Funeral services for Pauline will be held at 2p.m. Wednesday, December 14, 2011 at the Oak Grove General Baptist Church, Wasola, MO with E.J. Hampton officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday from Noon to service time at the church. Burial will be in the Loftis Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Loftis Cemetery.
