Peggy Lou Bell

Ava, Missouri

Peggy Lou Bell, 76 years, 4 months, and 12 days old, passed away on October 22, 2016 at the Cox Medical Center South in Springfield, MO with her family by her side.

Peggy was born June 10 ,1940 in Douglas County, MO to Arthur and Carrie (Rhoades) Coonts.

As a child, Peggy attended East Dogwood School and Evans Church.

Peggy enjoyed shopping, yard sales, auctions, watching wrestling and word searches. She enjoyed cooking for family dinners and spending time with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, family and friends.

Peggy was preceded in death by her parents, six brothers, Harley, Cecil, James, Paul, Russell and Junior, four sisters, Betty Critten, Mae Coonts, Vernice Dehaven and Edwina Schrock and one grandson, Braxton Bell.

Peggy is survived by three daughters, Sherry Bell and Gary Shelton, Ava, MO, Cathy Craig, Stockton, IL and Connie Downs, Lanark, IL, one son, Gordon and Sharon Bell, Ava, MO, seven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, a brother, Jack Coonts, Norwood, MO, a sister, Laverne Brown, Dover, DE and a host of other relatives and friends.


Funeral services for Peggy will be Wednesday, October 26, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, MO with burial in the Ava Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 1:00 p.m. to service time. Officiating will be Pastor Oren Alcorn.
