Peggy Ann Jenkins

Peggy Ann Jenkins, 88 years, passed to heaven on July 5, 2013 at Mercy Hospital, Springfield, MO due to complications of pneumonia.

Peggy was born November 8, 1924 in Springfield, MO to Oliver and Inez (Turner) Luce. She graduated from Parkview High School in Springfield, MO.

Peggy was a resident of the Ava community for many years.
On October 29, 1942 Peggy and Glenn Clinton Jenkins were united in marriage in Ava, MO and to this union four children were born.

Peggy was a Homemaker and worked at the sawmill and dairy farm with Glenn for many years. She was a Christian and a long time member of the Mt. Tabor Church.

After retirement, Peggy and Glenn enjoyed collecting and showing Indian artifacts. In later years she made many quilts and crafts. She also made and shared many yarn coat hangers at Heart of the Ozarks Healthcare Center, where she was very active in all their activities. She received awards there, for participating in the Golden Age Games.

Peggy was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Glenn, one sister, Vera Roach and one brother, Dorell Luce.


Peggy is survived by four children and their spouses, Rebecca "Becky" & Robert Roberts, Ava, MO, J.W.& Twila Jenkins, Oliver & Elizabeth Jenkins, all of Ava, MO, Randy Jenkins, Seymour, MO, eight grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.


Funeral services for Peggy will be Wednesday, July 10, 2013, at 10:00 a.m. in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, MO with burial in the Jenkins Cemetery. Officiating will be Pastor Kendell Fortner. Memorials may be made to Jenkins Cemetery.
