IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Peggy
Wall
May 18, 1945 – September 14, 2022
Peggy Jane Wall, 77, of Marshfield, MO passed away on September 14, 2022 at her residence. She was born May 18, 1945 in Dawt, MO to Norman Cleon and Floa (Claybrook) Davis.
Peggy grew up in Ozark County and was a graduate of Gainesville High School. Soon after she moved to Kansas City. Leaving Kansas City in 1973 she moved her family back to the family homestead at Dawt, living the quiet life of farming and raising her children.
A hairdresser by trade she soon joined the team at Franchester's Beauty Salon on the square in Gainesville. (This excerpt is from an Ozark County Times article dated Oct. 31, 2018, the story of Barbara Loftis retiring) "Barbara tells a story about a co-worker in the Franchester's salon that always brings a laugh-but also shows the challenges and exhaustion faced by hard-working single mothers. The stylist, Peggy Bowe, worked at Baxter Lab in Mtn Home, AR and also worked a second job as a Franchester stylist while raising two sons. "One night she went home and left Mary Shields under the dryer. Me and Fran looked around and thought, 'Huh, I wonder who's supposed to take care of her.' But Peggy remembered before she got home and came back to finish Mary's hair. She was just really tired, and she forgot Mary was still under the dryer."
In 1977 life would pull Peggy west to Oregon. Joining her brother and his family she settled in the Rogue River Valley. Soon after her retirement Floa came out west as well, bringing the family all together.
Peggy met the love of her life, Charlie, in 1983 and married in 1985. After Floa's passing she transplanted again to the Bay Area. With her boys grown and starting their own lives she finally could follow her dreams. Managing high-rise luxury apartments was her next calling. She loved living in tall skyscrapers. The views, the people, it was an adventure that fulfilled her for the next 15 years. Missouri never left her soul and in 2000 she undertook her last big adventure. Finding a small ranch in Marshfield where her and Charlie became gentlemen ranchers.
Until the end of their lives Charlie and Peggy lived a joyous life on their small farm in Marshfield. Never wanting for more than a quiet life spent together they attended services at Elkland Church. Making memories and friends that would carry them till their final days. They both passed peacefully in their home just over a month apart.
Peggy was a wonderful mother, daughter, sister, and wife. The childhood at Dawt prepared her well for the life ahead. Friendship, service, hard work, loyalty, and dedication to her loved ones and those she met were the hallmark of her life.
She is survived by two sons Matt Bowe and wife Becky of Hidden Valley Lake, CA, and Mark Bowe and wife Jamie of Saint Helens, OR and 3 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Charlie Wall; and one brother William Davis and his wife Luese.
Graveside funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, September 23, 2022 in the Clear Springs Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Gainesville, MO.
