Perry Neal Lakey
Ava, MO

Perry Lakey was born on January 12, 1943 the son of Ira and Zelma Nall Lakey in the Sweden Community of Douglas County and departed this life in Pueblo, Colorado on July 20, 2007, at the age of 64 Years 6 Months and 8 Days.

Perry was born into a large family where everyone had to do their part to make ends meet so he started work at an early age and continued that work ethic even after retirement. He enjoyed simple things and hard work, but after the job was done he dearly loved to bass fish.

Perry is survived by his wife Eula of the home, one daughter Sandy Lakey of St. Peters, MO, one son and his wife Steve and Lori Lakey of Cameron, MO,
a grandson, Shane Hasbrouck, of Cameron, MO, and a granddaughter, Amanda Lakey of Cameron, MO, eleven step grandchildren and one step great grandchild.
Perry is also survived by his step daughter and her husband, Denise and Larry Dryer of Ava, MO. and step son and his wife Chris and Shantell Goodnight of Republic, MO. Survivors also include his five brothers and their spouses:
Alvin and Mary Lou Elliott of Gunnison, Colorado, Noble and Bonnie Lakey of Ava, MO, Leon and Colleen Lakey of Ava, MO, E.J. and Bonnie Lakey of O'Fallon, MO and Larry and Lorraine Lakey of O'Fallon, MO and several nieces and nephews.

Perry was preceded by his parents, and two brothers, Norman and Leo.

Funeral services for Perry Neal Lakey will be Thursday, 10:00 A.M., July 26, 2007 in Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, MO with Rev. Don Graham officiating. Burial will follow in Denlow Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday evening from 6 till 7 P.M. in the funeral home. Memorial contribution may be made to the charity of choice at the funeral home.
