Phyllis Pearl Sparks, 74 years, passed to heaven on March 24, 2010 at her home.

Phyllis was born March 8, 1936 in Drury, MO to Walter and Ella (Hurst) Uhlmann. She graduated from Ava High School.

On June 4, 1960, Phyllis and Dwayne Sparks were united in marriage in Hocomo, MO and to this union four children were born. Phyllis was a lifelong resident of Douglas County. She enjoyed growing flowers,working puzzles, sewing and making the grandchildren homemade dolls.

Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Edward Uhlman, and a son-in-law, Robert Hinkle.


Phyllis is survived by her husband, Dwayne L. Sparks, Dora, MO, four children and their spouses, Richard & Loretta Sparks, Dora, MO, Terry & Lisa Sparks, Mtn. Grove, MO, Paula Hinkle, Green Forest, AR and Gayla & Philip Chafin, Willow Springs, MO, eight grandchildren, Alicia, Tim, Derek, Cherish, David, Cory, Cole and Chloe, three great grandchildren, Jamie, Paige and Owen, one sister and husband, Shirley & Harley Hancock, Ava, MO, one brother, Paul Uhlmann, Drury, MO, sister-in-law, Agnes Uhlman, Ava, MO and many other relatives and friends.


Funeral services for Phyllis will be Saturday, March 27, 2010, at 10:00 a.m. in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, MO with burial in the Pleasant Mound Cemetery, Dora, MO. Visitation will be Saturday, March 27, 2010 from 9:00 a.m. to service time in the funeral home. Officiating will be Brother Willard Burch.
