Phyllis Turner of Gainesville, Mo, passed away on the evening of October 10, 2019 at the age of 66. Phyllis was born in Thornfield, MO on October 9, 1953. She was the daughter of Hervil and Virginia Gaulding, of Thornfield.
After graduating from Gainesville High School in 1971, she moved to Kansas City, KS and worked in administrative jobs, spending most of her years at Hallmark Corporation. She became a Mother to Emily Engle (of Abilene, KS) and Luke Marvine (of Mission Hills, KS).
In 2004, she married her childhood friend, Johnnie Turner and moved back to Gainesville. She and her husband own the Antler Motel and Phyllis was the Treasurer of Ozark County.
Phyllis loved her family well and especially enjoyed her five grandchildren. She was known for her strength and wisdom.
She was preceded in death by her father and mother, and her sister, Evangeline. She is survived by her husband, John, her brother, HK Gaulding, her sister, Faye Anglin, her two children, John's three children, and their nine grandchildren.
A public Memorial service will be held Monday, October 14th, 2019 at 10:00am at the Thornfield Chapel with Bruce DeWeese officiating. Burial will follow in the Thornfield Cemetery. The family asks that memorial contributions be made to the Thornfield Cemetery. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Gainesville, MO.
