Raymond Glen Moore, 81 years, 0 months, and 48 days old, passed away on February 27, 2010 at St. John's Hospital.
Raymond was born January 10, 1929 in Grand Junction, CO. to Glen and Fern (Homan) Moore. He graduated from Gypsum High School, and at the age of 17 entering the United States Navy, serving during the close of the Second World War. Ray reenlisted and served during the Korean Conflict, after leaving the military Ray worked in the Leadville mines for 8 years before going to work at a foundry. Ray enjoyed working on cattle ranches on the Western Slope and in the interior range of the Rockies. The later years of his working career he opened his own small appliance repair shop in Gypsum till retirement when they moved to the Ava area in 1993.
On June 19, 1982 Raymond and Mary Boore were united in marriage in Eagle, CO. where their shared families became one. Ray was a member of the Mason's for 50 years belonging to the local masonic Lodge and was also a member of the Eastern Star for over 20 years.
Raymond was preceded by one sister and his parents Glen Moore and Fern Moore.
Raymond is survived by his wife Mary of Ava, daughters Ellery Willyard and Jim of Fredrick, CO, Kim Roundtree and Lenny of Lakewood, CO, Charlene Vinyard and Mark of Hampton VA, and Laura Walker and Stephen of Ava, MO, and one son Smokey Handley and wife Lisa of Overton, NV, 16 Grandchildren and 14 Great Grandchildren.
Memorial services for Raymond will be Friday, March 5, 2010, at 10:00 A.M. in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, MO, with burial in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Springfield, MO.Visitation will be from 9:00 till 10:00 A.M. in the funeral home. Officiating will be Reverend Terry Wilson. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Neighbor Helping Neighbor.
