RAYMOND EUGENE ROGERS

Raymond Eugene "Gene" Rogers, 68, of Protem, MO went to be with the Lord Saturday, February 10, 2018 at Cox South Medical Center in Springfield, MO. He was born October 31, 1949 in Protem, the son of Raymond and Audrey (Cole) Rogers.

Gene was united in marriage to Mary Dunn on November 17, 1967. He loved to hunt and work on the farm. With all his heart he loved his children and grandchildren. He became a Christian at an early age and loved the Lord and loved reading and studying the Bible. Ninety-first Psalms was one of his favorite to read.

He loved to sing, especially gospel songs and was known in the area for his auctioneering. He worked many years as an over the road driver. He worked for Consumers Warehouse and retired from Taney County Road and Bridge.

He was preceded in death by a son, Kevin Rogers; and his father, Raymond Rogers. He is survived by his wife, Mary Rogers; a son Kelly Rogers of Protem; a daughter Kim Borkenhagen of Kissee Mills; two sisters Arlene Rogers of Springfield and Anna Hamilton of Buffalo; five grandchildren and three great grandchildren; many more family and friends that will greatly miss him.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, February 14, 2018 at the Protem Community Church with Tom Cantrell officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday morning from 10 a.m. to service time at the church. Burial will be in the Protem Cemetery next to his son, Kevin. The family asks that memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Gainesville, MO.
