REBECCA SUE (FRIEND) BOYD

Rebecca Sue (Friend) Boyd, 71, of Gainesville, MO passed away March 20, 2020 at the Gainesville Healthcare Center. She was born August 16, 1948 in Gainesville, Mo.

Becky was born and raised in Gainesville to a large and loving family. She was one of eleven children born to Efton and Juanita (Murrill) Friend. She worked 30+ years at Baxter Healthcare (Baxter Lab) in Mountain Home, AR. She loved to be outside gardening, doing yard work and collecting rocks. She loved her grandchildren more than anything. Her family was always very important to her. She was a real fighter who never quit and never gave up. Her battle with health was a long and enduring one, but she handled with grit and grace. She was loved and will be missed by all.

She is survived by one granddaughter Kandace Newton of Zanoni, MO; four great grandchildren Conner Peirce of Sparta, IL, Shelby Smith, Jaxon Smith & Briar Smith all of Zanoni, MO; four siblings George Friend, Nettie Sue Friend, Charlie Friend, and Wilma Pendergrass; ex-husband Gene Loftis and wife Frances; and her best friend Lyndell Boyd; and numerous extended family members.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two children Brian Loftis and Angie Loftis Newton; one granddaughter Duste Peirce; and six siblings Eva June Friend, Lawrence Friend, Mary Bates, Benny Friend, O.J. Friend, and Betty Garfit.

Graveside Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, March 27, 2020 in the Friend Cemetery, Isabella, MO. Due to the current health risks associated with large gatherings, an open come and go visitation will be Wednesday & Thursday from 9 a.m to 4 p.m. at Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Gainesville, MO. Memorial contributions may be made to help with funeral expenses. Arrangements are being conducted by Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Gainesville, MO.
