Rexford Linder
Rexford Linder the son of Ed Linder and Tryphena (Bunnell) Linder was born July 13, 1915 in Vera Cruz, MO and departed this life April 12, 2007 at the age of 91 years 8 months and 29 days.
Rex was a resident of the Ava area for most of his life. He was a farmer and was employed as a truck driver for M.F. A. for 17 years. Rex was a Christian. He was converted at age 84 and was baptized. Feb. 6, 1938 Rex and Edna Clinton were united in marriage in Douglas County, Missouri. To this union four children were born.
Rex served his country during WWII, with U.S. Army in the South Pacific. Rex enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Rex was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, Jane, two sisters and four brothers. His survivors include his wife, Edna, of the home, Ava, one son, James (Butch) Linder and wife, Joyce, Ava, MO, two daughters, Ruby Smith, Ava, MO, and Delena Proctor, Mtn. Grove, MO, 7 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, 4 great-great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
Services will be 2:00 P.M., Monday, April 16, 2007 in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, MO with the Rev. Robert Grisham officiating. Interment will follow in the Brushyknob Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday 5 to 6 P.M. Memorials may be made to the Gideons. Military graveside by American Legion Post 112 and VFW Post 5993.
