RHODA V. (LOFTIS) CROMEANS
Rhoda Cromeans, 87, of Tecumseh, MO passed away on October 22, 2012 at Ozarks Medical Center in West Plains, MO. She was born on October 18, 1925 in Barren Fork, MO, the daughter of Benjamin W. and Iva P. (Howard) Loftis.
Rhoda was a wonderful person. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. One of her favorite activities was fishing. She could sit for hours waiting for just one bite. She was always so cool, calm and collective. She also was a great cook, especially with homemade rolls and desserts. Nobody would ever go hungry, even late at night or early morning. No one can say anything bad about her because there was nothing bad to say. She loved her family and friends and would give the shirt off her back if someone needed it. She will be truly missed.
Rhoda is survived by her children Ralph Nielson and wife Helen, Shirley Sickler and husband Jim, Mike Bushong and Jim Bushong; step children Robert Cromeans, Stacy Cromeans and Doris Barker and husband David; two foster children Brenda English and Carol Hunt; and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Benjamin and Iva Loftis; two husbands Haston Bushong and Orval Cromeans; six brothers Albert, Claude, Clay, Henry, Chalmer and James Loftis; and one sister Vergie Loftis Ball.
Funeral services for Rhoda will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, October 25, 2012 in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home chapel in Gainesville, MO with Halbert Smith officiating. Visitation will be Thursday from Noon to service time at the funeral home. A Graveside service will be held at 1p.m. Saturday, October 27, 2012 in the Oak Grove Cemetery, Walnut Springs, TX.
