Rhoda Luevena Thomas,

Rhoda Luevena Thomas left her body of earthly clay behind and went to be with the Lord in the early morning hours of December 3, 2012 after a long illness. She was born December 24, 1915 near Ongo, MO, the daughter of Elihu and Nellie Roberts Maggard. She was 96 Years 11 Months and 9 Days old. Rhoda was able to live at home her entire life.

On May 12, 1938 Rhoda was united in marriage to Amos Thomas and to this union two children were born. Wanda Ellison who survives and lives in Seymour and Ronnie Thomas who lives on the home place. Rhoda was a Christian and attended the Breeden Church until her failing health prohibited it. She spent all her life working in the home and on the farm with Amos where they operated a dairy farm for many years. Rhoda loved flowers and growing a big garden when her health permitted.

Rhoda was preceded in death by her husband Amos, four brothers, Benton, Enoch, Woodrow and Henry, three half-brothers, Silas, Jim and Caleb, two sisters, Maude and Rose, and sister-in-law, Tony Ellison.



She is survived by daughter, Wanda Ellison, Seymour, MO, son, Ronnie Thomas and wife Sue, Ava, MO, sister, Edna Hawkins, Sparta, MO, four grandchildren, Bobbie Miller, Kami Souder, Lyndi Terry, all of Ava, and Doug Ellison, Seymour, eight great grandchildren, two great, great grandchildren and a host of friends and relatives.



Funeral Services for Rhoda will be Friday, December 7, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, MO with burial in the Stillings Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, December 6, 2012 from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Stillings Cemetery at the funeral home. Officiating will be Joe Lafferty.
