Richard Vernon Brown, 75 years, 2 months, and 5 days old, passed to heaven on September 28, 2014 at Cox Medical Center South.
Richard was born July 23, 1939 in Ava, MO to Clarence and Lue (Lane) Brown.
On September 14, 1959 Richard and Geneva Powell were united in marriage in Rochelle, IL and to this union three children were born.
Richard retired from 3M after working there for many years.
Richard was an avid hunter and fisherman. Before his Parkinson's, he was a member of the Finley River Bass Club.
Richard was preceded by his parents.
Richard is survived by his wife, Geneva Brown, two sons and their wives, Douglas and Denise Brown, Dale and Jeanette Brown, one daughter, Tammy Pulliam, five grandchildren, Kiaya Brown, Benjamin Brown, Melissa Brown, Jessica Brown and Danielle Pulliam, one great-grandchild, Kyrie Godby, one sister, Charlene Brown, one brother, Leslie Brown and a host of other relatives and friends.
A Graveside service for Richard will be Tuesday, September 30, 2014 at 3:00 PM in the Ava Cemetery, Ava, MO. Visitation will be Tuesday from 1:30-2:45 PM in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, MO. Officiating will be Pastor James Eakins. Memorials may be made to the National Parkinson Foundation.
