RICHARD W. CARSON

Richard W. Carson, Tecumseh, MO, passed away Tuesday, July 21, 2009 at St. John's Regional Medical Center in Springfield, MO at the age of 78 years. He was born December 12, 1930 in Cowles, Nebraska the son of Robert Otis and Edith (Gaddie) Carson.

On February 26, 1956 he was united in marriage to Sylvia Spencer in West Plains, MO. To this union five children were born. Richard was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He was a faithful servant to his Lord having regularly attended his church and truly enjoyed participating in congregational worship. He was a Deacon at Lilly Ridge General Baptist Church in Gainesville, MO.

Richard enjoyed gardening and working outdoors. Along with his wife, Sylvia, he regularly delivered meals to those in need. His favorite time was having all his family together around him.

Mr. Carson is survived by his wife Sylvia of the home in Tecumseh, MO; three sons Mitchell Carson of Delavan, IL, Ronald Carson of Delavan, IL, and Robert Carson of Clarks, NE; two daughters Teresa Wald of Marquette Heights, IL and Jennifer Seward of Bartonville, IL; 16 grandchildren; and 2 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother Gordon Carson, and two sisters Thelma Payton and Doreen Bean.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, July 25, 2009 at Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Gainesville, MO with Jeff Dotson and Dale Roberts officiating. Interment will be in the Mount Pleasant (Hog Danger) Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, July 24, 2009 from 5:00-7:00 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Lilly Ridge General Baptist Church or Mount Pleasant (Hog Danger) Cemetery.
