IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Richard
Lehmkuhl
January 29, 1932 – June 29, 2021
Richard Edward Lehmkuhl, 89, of Theodosia, MO passed away Tuesday, June 29, 2021 at his residence with his wife by his side. He was born January 29, 1932 in Granite City, IL to Wesley and Alvina (Schmitt) Lehmkuhl.
Richard was in the Naval Air Corp and then began his job at Granite City Steel as a structural engineer iron worker. He retired in 1984 due to heart problems and began a new career as a rancher/farmer with South Devon Livestock. He entered them into competition at Louisville, KY and won first place with a young bull. He then began a new endeaver with tractor, bush hog, and bulldozer.
Richard was an avid hunter and fisherman. He and his son, Todd, always had a trip planned with their German Shorthair Pointer for pheasant hunting in South Dakota, goose hunting in Canada, and of course deer hunting in Missouri. Health problems slowly took over and ended that episode. It saddened him because that was his dream.
On June 7, 2021, he and wife Audrey celebrated their wedding anniversary of 69 years.
He is survived by wife Audrey Lehmkuhl and son Richard Todd Lehmkuhl both of Theodosia, MO.
No local services are planned at this time. The family has honored Richard's wish for cremation. Arrangements are under the direction of Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Gainesville, MO.
