Richard Fredrick Whittenhall, 85 years, 7 months, 13 days old, passed away on September 6, 2022 at his home with family by his side.
Richard was born January 21, 1937 in Muskegon, Michigan to Paul LaVarr and Helen Marie (Kwasiborski) Whittenhall.
He was a veteran having served our country as a Marine and was honorably discharged as a Sergeant.
Richard and "Mickey" Simone were united in marriage on August 27, 1960 in Chicago, Illinois. Together they had three children, Dan, Amanda, and Joy.
Richard was a retired Auto Mechanic, Truck Driver and had also worked as a Ballast Controller on oil rigs. He was a Christian and a member of the Catholic Church. He liked woodworking and teaching woodworking to his family. Richard was a Patriot and loved his country. Most of all he loved his grandchildren!
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Mickey; his daughters Amanda and Joy; two brothers, James and Kenneth; sisters-in-laws, Patricia, Frances, and Mary Ann.
Richard is survived by his son Daniel Whittenhall and Valerie; grandchildren; great grandchildren; one brother, Bud Whittenhall; nieces, nephews and friends.
Memorial services for Richard will be Tuesday, September 13, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. in the Clinkingbeard Chapel, Ava, MO with Military Honors by the Troy Herd American Legion Post 112 and U.S. Marines. Burial of his ashes will be at a later date in the Ava Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
