Rita Pauline Hicks, daughter of Roscoe Duren and Luceil Belle (James) Duren was born on Oct. 26, 1952 in Gainesville, MO and passed away to her heavenly home on Oct. 12, 2007 in Macomb, MO with her family by her side.

Rita was a resident of Brushyknob community for many years. On Nov. 26, 1970 Rita and Larry Leon Hicks were united in marriage in Ava, MO and to this union four children were born. Rita owned and operated with her husband, the Hicks Custom Processing Co. She was a member of the Church of Christ in Barren Fork and later attended the Mtn. Grove Church of Christ. Rita enjoyed sewing, crafting, gardening and building things. She loved and adored her family.

She was preceded in death by her father, Cecil Roscoe Duren.
She is survived by her husband, Larry of the home in Macomb, four children and their spouses, Joseph & Marie Hicks, Mtn. Grove, MO, Bethany & Kirk Hall, Bentonville, AR, Hanna & Timothy Pippin, Columbia, MO and Jeremiah & Bridget Hicks, Macomb, MO, her mother, Luceil Belle Duren, Mansfield, MO, eight grandchildren, Tommy Joe, Josh, Cody, Aaron, Luke, Colette, Levi and Wyatt, one brother, Donnie Duren, Kansas City, KS, in-laws, Edgar & Minnie Hicks, Ava, MO, two uncles, Vernon and Hubert James and a host of other relatives and friends.

Graveside service for Rita is Monday, 2:00 p.m., Oct. 15, 2007 at Oak Forest Cemetery, Norwood, MO with Harlin Howerton officiating.
