Rev. Robert "Bob" Thompson Jr.

Ava, Missouri

Robert Eugene Thompson Jr., 71 years, 10 months, 5 days old, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on March 19, 2022 at Barnes -Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri from a sudden heart attack with Cinda by his side.

Bob was born May 14, 1950 in Fort Scott, KS to Robert and Mary (Poe) Thompson.

Bob grew up in a Pastor's home moving frequently to further the Gospel.

He began his education in California and went on to attend Ft. Scott Bible School and  graduated from high school at Mt. Zion Bible School. He received his Bachelor of Theology from the Kansas City College and Bible School in Overland Park, KS. He then taught school at Mt. Zion Bible School, Venture Bible College in Jamaica, West Indies and later became Principal at Rocky Mountain Christian School in Littleton, CO where he met Cinda Ramey. On November 22, 1978 Bob and Cinda were united in marriage at Littleton. Together they started on a wonderful journey for the Lord as Pastors for 43 years, including Missionary Pastors in the Cayman Islands for 25 years! He and Cinda had been serving together at Mt. Zion COGH for over 10 years.

Bob enjoyed people! He loved teasing everyone and music. He loved the opportunity to Coach at Mt. Zion or anywhere. He and Cinda had the pleasure of traveling and led tours to Israel. He traveled extensively for the Prison Fellowship International. Locally Bob was a member of the Ava Ministerial Alliance and conducted a weekly radio broadcast titled, "Moments with the Master" on KKOZ.  His passion was preaching and sharing the Gospel.

He was preceded in death by his parents Robert and Mary and brother, John Vernon.

Bob is survived by his wife, Cinda; children whose parents shared them in a special relationship include; Bryan Bowie and family, Marie George and family, Delia Powery and family, Egbert Jackson, Zenia Woods and family and Joy Anson, their 10 God Children; brother, Reverend Ken Thompson and Vicky of Fordland; sister Glenna Thompson of Branson; many nieces, nephews, a host of family and many friends!

Funeral services for Bob will be Saturday, March 26, 2022 at 12:00 p.m. in Mt. Zion Auditorium, Rt. 1, Box 48 (Highway B) in Ava, MO with a visitation prior to the service at 11:00 a.m. to service time. Burial will follow in the Mt. Zion Cemetery.  Officiating will be Rev. Ken Thompson. Memorials may be made to Mt. Zion Bible School or Gideon's International. Services are being conducted by the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, MO.
