Robert "Bob" Siler
Ava, MO
Robert "Bob" James Siler, 82 years, 1 month, and 0 days old, passed to Heaven on December 28, 2015 at his home.
Bob was born in Brownbranch, MO, to Jesse Wright and Eulah (Taber) Siler. He graduated from Ava High School in 1952.
Bob was a lifelong resident of the Ava community.
He was a retired Plainview School Bus Driver, taught Auto Mechanics at Ava and Bradleyville and also worked at Spaldings Sporting Goods in Ava. During all of this work he was a full-time Farmer.
On February 5, 1954, Bob and Dorothy Mae Johnson were united in marriage in Ava, MO and to this union four children were born.
Bob was a Christian and Deacon of the Sandy General Baptist Church. He was one of the charter members of the Goodhope Fire Dept.
Bob was strong in his faith and family.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Dorothy in 2011; and three brothers, Claude, Ralph and Billie.
Bob is survived by one son and wife, John & Connie Siler, Oldfield, MO; three daughters and their spouses, Anna & Lennie Johnson, Ava, MO; Sue & Kevin Clayton, Kirbyville, MO, and Beth & Ron Lawson, Ozark, MO. Ten grandchildren, Isaiah Johnson, Amanda Evans, Brad Siler, Crystal Boyle, Zach Johnson, Kendra Harris, Chance Johnson, Dakota Merrill, Jessica Lakey and Justine Lawson; 22 great grandchildren, one sister, Ora Schmitt, Beaufort, SC, seven brothers and sisters-in-laws, whom he thought of as his siblings, Raymond & Polly Johnson, Darlene & Merle Davis, Luetta & Mac Mitchell, Joyce & Wayne Harper, Gary & Sherry Johnson, Danny & Connie Johnson and Jim & Carolyn Johnson, many nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Bob will be Sat. January 2, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, MO with burial in the Sherrodd Cemetery in Taney County, MO. Visitation will be Friday, Jan. 1, 2016 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. in the funeral home. Officiating will be Rev. Frances Humbyrd and Rev. Neal Crum. Memorials may be made to Sherrodd Cemetery or donors choice of charity.
