Robert Wayne Jennings

Heavener, OK

Robert Wayne Jennings, 75 years, passed to heaven on April 28, 2009 at Ft. Smith, AR. Robert was born March 30, 1934 in Springfield, MO to Clifford and Erma (Plympton) Jennings.

Wayne was a Flight Simulator Instructor with the U.S. Air Force. Wayne and Jackie Loftis were united in marriage on Nov. 10, 1953 in Jefferson County, MS and to this union three children were born.

Wayne was a U.S. Air Force Veteran for 22 years. He served as a Flight Simulator Technician. He served in Texas, Louisiana, Alaska, Florida, Ohio, Arizona & Arkansas.
Wayne served one year remote in Alaska on Middleton Island as a Ham Radio Operator.
He retired from Little Rock Air Force Base in Jacksonville, AR.

He was a member of the Church of Christ in Heavener, OK. His wife, Jackie was the light and love of his life, a romance that started nearly sixty years ago and never faded.
He loved playing with his grandchildren, great grandchildren and nothing gave him more joy than spending holidays with his family. Wayne enjoyed singing and playing the guitar, fiddle, mandolin and piano. He also enjoyed snow machining, four wheeling, fishing & camping in Alaska along with snowbirding in the winter time.

Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, one son Robert Allen Jennings, one great granddaughter, Alyssa, one nephew, David Jennings.


Wayne is survived by his wife, Jackie Jennings, Heavener, OK, two daughters, Sherry Spaman, McAlister, OK and Lalia Smith & husband, James, Big Lake, AK, seven grandchildren, Michael, Lisette, Holly, Dustin, Stephen, Kayla & Babette, seven great grandchildren, Mariah, Christopher, Ethan, Bryce, Sage, Kaitlyn & Matthew, one sister, Nadine & J.W. Carroll, Springfield, MO and one brother, Clifford E. & Joyce Jennings, Shawnee, KS, a special cousin, Herbert Plympton, two special daughters & granddaughter of the heart, Jaymie Murphy, Toni Moore & Jaslynn Murphy, nieces, nephews, his dog, Charlie and other relatives and friends.


Funeral services for Wayne will be Saturday, May 2, 2009, at 2:00 p.m. in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, MO with burial in the Ava Cemetery with full Military Honors by the U.S. Air Force. Visitation will be Friday, May 1, 2009 from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home. Officiating will be Forrest Jackson. Memorials may be made to Cox Hospital School of Nursing Scholarship Program, Springfield, MO.
