Ronnie Lee Osburn, 59 years, passed away on March 15, 2010 in his home, surrounded by his family, following a courageous battle with cancer.

Ronnie was born March 3, 1951 in Ava, MO to Willie A. and Marie (Cunningham) Osburn.

On July 7, 1989 Ronnie and Sheila Preston were united in marriage in Miami, OK and to this union a son, Ronnie Joe was born.


Ronnie was employed at St. John's Hospital, Springfield, MO in the maintenance dept. for 37 years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and spending time at the lake with his family and friends. Ronnie was a member of the Elm Grove Methodist Church in Rogersville.

Ronnie was preceded in death by his father, Willie Osburn, a brother, Bobby Joe, brother-in-law, Johnnie Cline and father-in-law, Jim Ray Preston.


Ronnie is survived by wife, Sheila Osburn, Rogersville, MO, four sons, Scott Osburn and wife, Kimberly, Kansas City, MO, Ronnie Joe Osburn, of the home, Keith Preston, Rogersville, MO and Kyle Preston and Autumn, Springfield, MO, two grandchildren, Elpiniki, Anastasia and one on the way, Loralie, his mother, Marie Osburn, Ava, MO, one sister, Norene Cline, Forsyth, MO, two brothers, Melvin Osburn & wife, Pat, Ava, MO and Gale Osburn & wife Wanda, Oldfield, MO, sister-in-law, Connie Sue Osburn, Ava, MO, mother-in-law, Betty Preston, Sparta, MO, two special friends, Maury & Kay Gibson, many nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Funeral services for Ronnie will be Thursday, March 18, 2010, at 10:00 a.m. in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, MO with burial in the Walnut Grove Cemetery, Ava, MO. Visitation will be Wednesday, March 17, 2010 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the funeral home. Officiating will be Pastor Todd Staples and Rev. Gale Osburn. Memorials may be made to St. John's O'Reilly Cancer Center c/o St. John's Cancer Center, 1235 E. Cherokee, Springfield, MO 65804.
