Rosemary S. Pitts, 85 years, 6 months, and 2 days old, passed to Heaven on May 7, 2016 at Heart of the Ozarks Healthcare, Ava, MO with her family by her side.

Rosemary was born November 5, 1930 in Shrewsbury, KY to Willie D. Sadler and Addie Marie (Kiper) Sadler Fraze.

On May 21, 1947, Rosemary and John M. Pitts were united in marriage in Elizabethtown, KY and to this union three children were born.

She was a Christian and was a member of First Southern Baptist Church in Ava. Rosemary was retired from working as a tour guide for 14 years at the Laura Ingalls Wilder Home Museum in Mansfield, MO.

Rosemary enjoyed crocheting, sewing, reading, and photography. Her joy was being with her family and friends.

Rosemary was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, SGM John M. Pitts and two brothers, Hubbard Sadler and Eugene Fraze.

Rosemary is survived by one son and wife, LTC Richard M. and Alice Pitts, The Colony, TX, two daughters and their spouses, Patricia and COL Richard Cashon, Celina, TX and Mona and John Bassett, Ava, MO, five grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, one great great grandson, one sister, Doris DeWeese, Caneyville, KY, and a host of other relatives and friends.


Graveside Funeral services for Rosemary will be Tuesday, May 10, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. in the Springfield National Cemetery, 1702 Seminole St., Springfield, MO. Visitation will be Monday, May 9, 2016 from 6:30 - 7:30 p.m. in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, MO. Officiating will be Pastor Rick Spacek. Memorials may be made to donor choice of charity.
