Roy Allen Hicks

Ava, Missouri

Roy Allen Hicks, 71 years, 10 months, and 4 days old, passed away peacefully in his home on October 10, 2023 with his wife Sharon by his side.

Roy was born on December 6, 1951 to Lloyd and Laverna (Anderson) Hicks in Ava, Missouri.  He graduated from Ava High School in 1969.

On February 14, 1970, Roy and Sharon (Day) were united in marriage by Reverend Oren Alcorn.  To this union two children were born.

Roy worked and retired from Hutchens Industries after thirty two years of service.

He was a child of God and was baptized by Brother Billy Hicks in March 1987.  Roy was Master Mason in Mansfield Masonic Lodge for several years.  He was also a member of the Scottish Rights and The Shriners.

Roy was an avid fisherman, loved hunting and being outdoors, but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his grandkids.

Roy was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, J.C. and Tony Lynn Hicks.

Roy is survived by his wife, Sharon; his children Betty and husband Jamie Holloway, and Rodney and wife Bobbi Hicks; grandchildren, Tia Mascol and husband Brandon, Katie Moss and husband Chris, Tiffany Lafferty and husband Kyle; six great grandchildren, MayCee Lafferty, Trinity Huffman, Danielle Huffman, Gabriel Moss, Jason Moss, and Gabriella Huffman; his brother Garry Hicks and wife Lisa.  Roy also leaves behind several nieces and nephews, as well as a host of many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Roy will be Monday, October 16, 2023 at 2:00 P.M. in Clinkingbeard Chapel in Ava, Missouri.  Visitation will be from 1:00 P.M. until service time.  Burial will be in the Fannon Cemetery.  Officiating will be Reverend Lee Maggard. Memorials may be made to Fannon Cemetery.
