Roy Leonard Sanders

Roy Leonard Sanders born in Gainesville, Missouri on May 6, 1927 to Frank & Macy Sanders, passed away July 27, 2009 in Houston, Texas.


Roy had 82 years of life, with numerous family members and friends. He was an avid bowler and golfer. He enjoyed travel and gave many years to bowling tours/tournaments which led him to being named in the Bowlers Hall of Fame.


Roy resided most of his life in Beaumont, Texas. After being diagnosed with Alzheimer's, he spent his remaining couple of years back in Houston, Texas.


During his life time, Roy was blessed with 6 children, 10 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.


Surviving children: Madalyn Carol Trull; Roy Douglas Sanders and his wife, Natlee and the youngest, Sheila Jynell Sanders. Surviving sister, Verna Mae Moses, and sister-in- laws, Pat Sanders and Georgia Sanders.


Roy was preceded in death by three of his children:
Kenneth Larry Sanders; David Leon Sanders and Helen Diana Sanders. Also preceded by brothers: Troy Ross Sanders and Murl Frank Sanders and his sister; Amy Retha Vreeland.

For his many contributions to life, he will be missed. But we all understand that true meaning begins when you leave this earth..........................Goodbye Dad, brother, grandfather, great grandfather, friend.............we will see you again.

Memorial Service for Roy will be Friday, Aug. 7, 2009, 11:00 a.m. at the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, MO with burial of cremains following at the Sims Cemetery, Gainesville, MO. Officiating will be Pastor Oren Alcorn.
