Ruby Louise Cox, 80 years, 11 months, 5 days old, passed peacefully on September 23, 2026, at her home in Ava, Missouri, with her husband by her side.

Ruby was born October 18, 1945, in Idabel, Oklahoma, to Arthur and Rosie (Whitman) Farley. Ruby was one of twelve children raised in the cotton fields of Oklahoma. She and her family would go to western Oklahoma to pick cotton.

She graduated from Idabel High School. On September 23, 1962, her birthday, Ruby and Dwight Weber Cox were united in marriage in Idabel. They got to celebrate 61 years of marriage.

In her early years she worked as a nurses assistant at the Idabel hospital. Later she started working with her husband, Dwight. Together they farmed and raised chickens and also had a hay field. They worked with Tyson Farms as chicken farmers for 45 years in Haworth, Oklahoma. In 2016, they retired and moved to the Ava community. They have enjoyed their neighbors in Ava.

Ruby was raised in the Baptist faith. She believed in hard work and was blessed to work with her husband all these years. She enjoyed mowing with her zero turn mower that Dwight got her. Ruby loved helping people, especially the elderly. Where there was a need, she was there. She also never let an animal go hungry. She will be greatly missed.

Ruby was preceded in death by her parents and seven brothers and sisters.

Ruby is survived by her husband, Dwight; two children, Carman Cox and Ricky Cox; two grandsons, Levi Cox and Haden Cox; siblings, Martha, Ruth, Betty, and Jerry Farley; extended family and her dog, Jesse.

Cremation services are being conducted by Clinkingbeard Funeral Home Ava, Missouri.
