Rubye Carter

Rubye Carter, 95 years, 6 months, 25 days old, passed away on December 12, 2019 at her home in Ava, Mo with family by her side.

Rubye was born May 17, 1924 in Starks, Louisiana to Monroe Newell and Minnie Etta (Stewart) Berry.

Rubye was retired from working for Sunshine Biscuits for over 30 years.

Rubye and Jack Spencer were united in marriage and to this union were blessed with two children. They were together for 42 years. After she later married Clyde Carter.

Rubye enjoyed gardening, dancing, and entertaining friends.

She was a Christian.

Rubye was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, Jack Spencer and Clyde Carter, six brothers and sisters.

She is survived by her son Jim Spencer and his wife Candy of Ava, MO, daughter Sherry Hodges and her husband Dewain of Cripple Creek, CO, 16 grandchildern, 11 great grandchildern, one brother, W.C. Berry of Kirbyville, TX and many other relatives and friends.

Cremation Services are being conducted by Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, MO.
