Russell Burl Miller, 64 years, 8 months and 4 days passed to Heaven on March 2, 2014 at his home with his wife, Linda by his side.

Burl was born June 28, 1949 in Ava, MO to Russell Burl and Florence Lorene (Rowe) Miller.

Burl was a lifelong resident of the Ava community.
Burl was a farmer and also worked as a well driller with his father. He enjoyed hulling and buying walnuts and visiting with all his customers.

On August 27, 1966, Burl and Linda Lou Hendrix were united in marriage in Ava, Missouri and to this union two children were born.

He was a Christian and a member of the Roy Church.
He enjoyed farming, trading, ceramics and going to McDonalds to see all his friends. His greatest joy was being surrounded by all his family playing cards and barbecueing

Burl was preceded in death by his parents, his step-mother, Ruby Miller, one brother, "Deanie" Rowe and an infant sister, Reva Louise.

Burl is survived by his wife, Linda Miller, Ava, MO, two children and their spouses; Anita & Billy Holt and Stacy & Teresa Miller all of Ava, MO, five grandchildren; Samantha and Katrina Holt, Johnathon, Justin and Nathan Miller, seven great grandchildren; Justus, Trenton, Daytona, Chandler, Aryan, Johnathon and Zach,
three sisters; Zelma Cockrum, Brixey, MO, Lena Mae Hutchison and Jeannie Pierce both of Ava, MO, many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.


Funeral services for Burl will be Friday, March 7, 2014, 10:00 a.m.in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, MO with burial in the Dobbs Cemetery, east of Ava. Visitation will be Thursday from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home. Officiating will be Pastor Robert Hall. Memorials may be made to the family as a Love offering or to Dobbs Cemetery.
