Ruth Edith Workman, 82 years, 11 months, 1 day old, passed to her Heavenly Home on July 29, 2016 at her home with her family by her side.
Ruth was born August 28, 1933 in Thornfield, MO to Smith and Nona (Lawson) Lawson.
On May 5, 1950 Ruth and Carl Eugene "Gene" Workman were united in marriage at Ava, MO and to this union six children were born.
Ruth was retired from working in Home Health Care. She had also worked at Hagales and Spalding Plants in Ava. In addition, Ruth worked hard on the Farm and was a wonderful wife and homemaker.
Ruth was a Christian and was of the Missionary Baptist faith. Ruth enjoyed fishing, embroidering, going on rides, and visiting with friends and family. She loved spending time with all her family, especially the grand and great grandkids!
Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, her husband "Gene", one son, Bill Workman, two daughters, Patty Workman and Debbie Williams, two brothers, James Earl & Carl, five sisters, Thelma, Gladys, Wilma and two infant sisters, one grandson, Jesse Workman, and one granddaughter, Wendy Goodman.
Ruth is survived by three children; Linda & Vernon Sullivan, Squires, MO, Brenda Workman Merriett, Ava, MO and Mike Workman & Teresa Downs, Seymour, MO, 15 grandchildren, many great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild on the way, one sister, Hazel Sullivan, Knoxsville, TN, many nieces, nephews and numerous relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Ruth will be Tuesday, Aug. 2, 2016 at 10:00 a.m.in Clinkingbeard Chapel, Ava, MO. Visitation will be Monday from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be in the Sweden Cemetery. Officiating will be Pastor T.J. Stout. Memorials may be made to the family as a love offering or to Sweden Cemetery.
