Sam Shipps

Ava, Missouri

Sammie Clarence Shipps, 69 years, 9 months, 11 days old, passed away on May 21, 2021 at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Missouri.

Sam was born August 10, 1951 in Heppner, Oregon to Burl and Wilma (Spurlock) Shipps.

Sam was a Ava High School graduate. He was a retired Engineer in Construction and also a farmer all his life. He was a Christian and attended the Murray Church with Rebecca. In Sam's earlier years he did roping and barrel racing in Rodeo's.

He enjoyed coon hunting and farming.

Sam was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his life partner, Rebecca Hampton, Charles Louie Brunson, whom he raised as his own son, two daughters, Cheyenne and Jolene, Spurlock families, other relatives and many friends.

Graveside services for Sam will be Tuesday, May 25, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. in the Ava Cemetery, Ava, MO. Officiating will be Pastor Dale Schofield. Memorials may be made to the Murray Church. Services are being conducted by Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, MO
