SARAH JOY FAY SWARTZ

Sarah Joy Fay Swartz, 72, passed away at her home in Gainesville, MO on August 14, 2014. Sarah was born to Roy Jacob and Willie Violet Swartz on May 28, 1942 in Mesa, AZ.

She attended schools in El Mirage, Glendale and Peoria, AZ, before marrying and starting her family, eventually moving to Baxter County, AR. She returned in the early 1980s to Yuba College to receive her degree as a registered nurse. She worked many years in the nursing field before retiring to Ozark County, MO. After her retirement she took part time local employment with Ozark County Senior Center. Sarah enjoyed gardening, sewing, quilting, and was an avid reader. She was a member of the First Christian Church of Gainesville and loved spending time with family, friends, and her beloved pet Abby.

Sarah was preceded in death by her parents, one brother Wayne, and the love of her life Dale Allison.

Sarah is survived by one brother Richard Swartz and wife Dodie; three children Lori Ledbetter and husband Dal, Debbie Marler and husband Donald, David Allison and fiancé Suzy Barnett; nine grandchildren, Curtis Ledbetter, Justin Ledbetter, Samantha Ledbetter, Amanda Alman and husband David, Shane Marler and wife Danae, Andy Marler and wife Misty, Tiffany Finney, Devin Finney, and Justin Finney; eight great grandchildren, Logan Ledbetter, Ayden Ledbetter, Gavin Alman, Kavyn Marler, Cole Marler, Krayson Marler, Adrienne Amrheim and Aurora Amrheim.

Funeral services for Sarah will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, August 18, 2014 at the First Christian Church of Gainesville with Pastor Marshall Larson officiating. Burial will be Monday afternoon at 2 p.m. in the Davidson Cemetery, Harmon, AR. Arrangements are by Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Gainesville, MO.
