SHARON KAY GRIFFITH

Sharon Kay Griffith, 66, Tecumseh, MO, passed away on October 23, 2009 in West Plains, MO after a short battle with cancer. She was born on August 13, 1943 in Ocie, MO the daughter of Charlie and Dolly (Taber) Myers.

On March 3, 1961 she was united in marriage to Harold Griffith in Ava, MO. The couple worked for many years side by side on their dairy farm near Thornfield, MO. Sharon also worked for many years for the United States Postal Service, retiring as a Post Master. She loved being outdoors and gardening; and she treasured the memories she had from times spent on family vacations. In later years, however, her grandchildren took top priority in life. She truly enjoyed every second she spent with them. She was a wonderful woman who was loved by one and all who knew her.

Sharon is survived by her husband Harold Griffith of the home in Tecumseh, MO; one daughter Lisa Evans and her husband David of Tecumseh, MO; five grandchildren Seth, Sarah, and Hannah Evans all of Tecumseh, MO; Jacob Evans of West Plains, MO, and Nathan Evans of Fort Seal, OK; two sisters Mona Welch of Ava, MO and Bonnie Copeland of Nixa, MO; two brothers C.H. Myers of Ocie, MO and Hershel Myers of Theodosia, MO; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents Charlie and Dolly Myers; one son John Rand Griffith; one sister Florence Nichols; and three brothers Darrell, Hervil, and Don Myers.

Graveside funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, October 26, 2009 in the Lutie Cemetery, Theodosia, MO with Bro. David Evans officiating. Visitation will be Monday morning from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. at the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Gainesville, MO.
