Obituary

SHERMAN 'CHESTER' TAYLOR

Sherman Chester Taylor, 92, of Sycamore, MO passed to heaven on February 28, 2012 at his residence. He was born on May 31, 1919 in Oakland, AR the son of David and Zona (Lantz) Taylor.

After graduating from high school, Chester enlisted into the United States Army. He was honorably discharged shortly after, so he could come home and take care of his family. On September 4, 1949 Chester was united in marriage to Mollie Sanders in Mountain Home, AR. They raised three sons. Chester loved to play music and square dance. He also loved being outdoors and farming. He was loved and will be missed by his family and friends.

Chester was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Mollie; three infant sisters; and two brothers-in-law Amos Johnson and Doyle Cockrum. He is survived by his three sons, Darvin Taylor of Sycamore, MO, Lane Taylor of Willow Springs, MO and Shaun Taylor of Sparta, MO; seven grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and two sisters Gertrude Cockrum and Nadine Johnson, both of Gainesville, MO.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 3, 2012 at the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home Chapel in Gainesville, MO with Jimmy Kyle officiating. Burial will be in the Smith Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday morning from 10 a.m. to service time.
