Shirley Caudill, 75 years, 3 months, 8 days old, passed away on April 11, 2017 at her home with her family by her side.

Shirley was born January 3, 1942 in Ash Grove, Missouri to Nolan and Mary (Spray) Smith.

Shirley Smith and Carroll Caudill were united in marriage on November 23, 1984 in Willard, Missouri.

Shirley was a Christian and a member of the Eastern Gate Missionary Baptist Church in Western Douglas County.

Shirley owned and operated a resturaunt in Springfield, Missouri for several years.

Shirley enjoyed reading and loved all lost or abused dogs. Most of all she loved being with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and they all knew that they were loved.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Don Smith and an infant brother and two grandchildren, Weston Dale Mallory and Whitney Jo Mallory.

Shirley is survived by her husband, Carroll Caudill, five children, Dana Mallory, Dan and Dennah Mallory, Larry and Gayla Mallory, Michael Caudill, and Daniel and Jodi Caudill, nine grandchildren, Stacey Pippin, Michael Durbin, Cherokee Dawn Caudill, Ethan Mallory, Jared Mallory, Shayne Mallory, Sarah Johnson, Parker Caudill and Sydnei Caine, three great-grandchildren, Austin Pippin, Andrew Durbin, William Durbin and one on the way, one sister, Evelyn Procter, one brother, Howard Smith, a very special family she loved as her own, Doug and Barbara Combs and family, and a host of other relatives and friends.


Graveside services for Shirley will be Friday, April 14, 2017 at 2:00 P.M. in the Ongo-Hall Cemetery. From Ava, MO take Hwy 14 west and turn left/south on County Road 549 then right on County Road 551, Cemetary on right at bottom of hill. From Ozark, Missouri take highway 14 E to Christian/Douglas county line. Turn right at Lemming road (swan creek chapel sign). At Ongo Historic Sign, turn right and follow the sign to reception hall. If you see a chapel you have gone too far. Less than 1/4 mile to the cemetery and it is on the right. Approximately the last 2 miles is dirt road. Ongo Hall Cemetary is 20 miles and 40 minutes from Ozark city limits. Viewing for Shirley will be Thursday from noon till 5 P.M. and Friday from 8:30 A.M.till noon at the funeral home.

Officiating will be Pastor Tim Mitchell.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the COPD Foundation or the ALS Association. Services are being conducted by Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, MO.
