Shirley Yvonne Twitty, of Ash Grove, 79 years, 10 months, and 21 days old, passed away on, January 26, 2022 at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Missouri.
Shirley was born March 5, 1942 in Longrun, Missouri to William Henry and Lottie (Hicks) Riley.
She was a born again Christian and was very proud that she had devoted her life to God. She cared deeply for her family and friends.
Shirley loved to fish and would tell stories of the big ones that got away. She loved to quilt and paint. She instilled in her daughters the love of family, crafting and just how important a great cup of coffee was tostart your day off right. She would draw many pictures for her great grandkids to color. Many a night she would tell stories to her great grandchildren over the phone if she could not see them. Her stories always had a happy ending and the great grandchild would be the hero or heroine in the tale. Her home was filled with laughter and family. Dinners and holidays always included her homemade buns and pies.
She was loved by many who knew her and will be greatly missed.
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents; son, William Dale Turner, brothers and sisters Carroll Riley, Mary Martha McCleary, Glen Doris Morefield, Elmer Ray Berry, Sue Crawford, Viola Hicks, Buster Riley, Evelyn Bagwell, Lorene Robertson, Robert Riley, Lena Ruth Hendrix, Sonny Riley, Ethel May Versaw, Anna Adams, and Zona Hartin.
Survived by 3 daughters and their families Lois Anne Honeycutt and husband Nelson Craig of Gainesville, Missouri, granddaughter Jenny Honeycutt of Monroe, Georgia and great grandson Hunter Peardon; Dottie Louise Maggard and husband Silas of Walnut Grove, Missouri, grandsons Silas Maggard, Jr. of Bois D' Arc, Jeremy Maggard of Walnut Grove and great granddaughter Jillian Maggard, granddaughters Katie Harris and husband Chris of Conway, Missouri and great granddaughter Addy Harris, Christina Shackelford and husband Dustin of Elkins, Arkansas and great grandson Jaxon White; Lottie Jo Clayton and husband Floyd of Gainesville, grandson Floyd Clayton Jr. and wife Becky of Mountain Grove, Missouri and great grandsons Ethan, Bryce, and Evan; grandson Jess Clayton and wife Desiree of Branson, Missouri and great granddaughter Courtney Ruth. Surviving sisters Virginia Delpha Taylor and Beverly Jean Meredith as well as many nieces, nephews and other family members.
Funeral services for Shirley will be Saturday, February 5, 2022 at 10:00 A.M. in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, Missouri. Burial will be in the Longrun Cemetery in Longrun, Missouri. Officiating will be Pastor Randy Maggard. Memorials can be made to the Longrun Cemetery.
