Sonny Carroll, 81 years, 8 months, and 27 days old, passed away on , June 1, 2026 in Ava, Missouri.

Sonny was born September 5, 1944 in Kanawha County, West Virginia to Clifford and Ruby Jewel (Mosier) Carroll.

Sonny was an Army Veteran and served his country honorably. He served as a Chaplain and was stationed in Germany.

Sonny spent five years on Kodiak Island in Alaska. He was a fishing guide for several years. Sonny and Esther both enjoyed the time they spent there.

Sonny was an entrepreneur and had several business endeavors in Ava, Missouri.

Sonny and Esther Eileen Burnett were united in marriage in 1988 in Reno, Nevada.

Sonny enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening(lamps and plants), spending time outdoors, and was an avid animal lover.

Sonny was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife, Esther in 2011.

Sonny is survived by his son, Timothy Carroll; daughter, Kristy Carroll; grandchildren; his siblings, Julia Christine Christie, Claude R. “Bud” Carroll(Julie), Clifford Carroll(Mary Ann), and Phillip “Pete” Carroll(Debbie); numerous nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.

Private burial will be in the Brushy Knob Cemetery in Ava, Missouri.
