Stanley Le Roy Myers, 73 years, passed to heaven on August 24, 2009 at his home with his loving wife by his side.

Le Roy was born October 18, 1935 in Eldorado, KS to Stanley and Dorothy (Smith)
Myers.

Le Roy and Rose Zella (Lathrop) Wade were united in marriage on October 13, 2001 in Ava, MO at the Ava United Methodist Church. Their wedding reception was held at Rockbridge Mill, where he and Rose Zella enjoyed many outings.

Le Roy was a retired Pipeline Engineer for Mobil Oil Co. after working for over 40 years. He lived and traveled in many states with his work. As a young man he also became a licensed electrician. He was an avid Nascar fan and he also enjoyed following the Stock Market. Le Roy enjoyed going at 6:00 a.m. every morning to open McDonald's to have his coffee with his buddies. Le Roy always looked forward to the Kansas bunch coming to Ava to visit. He was very instrumental in encouraging Rose Zella to open her own Real Estate Co. This was his final goal in his life and he got to see it completed. Le Roy was a Christian and Baptised at an early age in the Baptist faith. He enjoyed the outdoors and took pride in keeping everything immaculate. Le Roy fought a long and courageous fight with his heart disease. He exceeded all his doctor's expectations.

Le Roy was preceded in death by his parents, Stanley Le Roy and Dorothy Myers, his former wife, Earnesteen, a sister, Pat Lipsey and his son, Steven Todd Myers.

Le Roy is survived by his wife, Rose Zella Myers, Ava, MO, five children, Teresa Hedrick, Augusta, KS, Jeff Myers, Eldorado, KS, Scott Myers, Eldorado, KS, Robbyn Myers, Portland, OR and Deannetta Hodges, Ava, MO, eight grandchildren, Justin, Shelby, Shayna, Shandel, Miranda, Lauren, Clayton and Katie, two great grandchildren, Joslyn and Houston, two sisters, Gerry Marsh, Eldorado, KS and Marilyn Young, OK, special nieces, Jackie and Angie, special nephews Bob, Rod, Johnny and Ricky and numerous other relatives and many friends.



Funeral services for Le Roy will be Friday, August 28, 2009, at 1:00 p.m. in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, MO with burial in the Ava Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, August 27, 2009 from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home. Officiating will be Rev. Randy Dalton and Rev. Marty Blakey. Memorials may be made to the Ava United Methodist Church Building Fund.
