Suanne Sutherland, 73 years, 1 month, and 28 days old, passed to Heaven on March 6, 2014 at Heart of the Ozarks Healthcare, Ava, MO with her loving husband by her side from a long battle with Rheumatoid Arthritis.

Suanne was born January 9, 1941 in Smallett, MO to Addison Byron and Anna (Phipps) Cory.

Suanne was born and raised in Douglas County, MO. She left for a short time, living in Albany, OH and then returned and worked at the Douglas County Court House where she met the love of her life, Jerry Wayne Sutherland. On April 10, 1965 Suanne and Jerry were united in marriage in Ava, MO and to this union a daughter, Dianna was born.

Suanne was a Christian who loved the Lord and lived everyday for Him. She was a devoted wife, mom and grandma. She was well loved by everyone who ever met her.
Suanne always had a smile and had a way of brightening everyone else's day, even when her day might have been a struggle. She never complained and was always optimistic. Suanne was a Blessing and thought of everyone else first.
She was well loved and will be missed greatly.

Suanne was preceded in death by her parents, an infant sister, Ruby Orla and her step-mother, Anita Cory.

Suanne is survived by her husband, Jerry of the home in Ava, MO, a daughter, Dianna Bernhard, Springfield, MO, two grandchildren; Cassidy and Caitlyn Bernhard, Springfield, MO, three sisters, CloElla Leverenz, Springfield, MO, Uva McHarg, Albany, OH and Charlene Luallen, Memphis, TN, lots of nieces, nephews and friends.

A Celebration of Suanne's life will be Monday, March 10, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. in the Clinkingbeard Chapel, Ava, MO. Visitation will be Monday from 1:00 p.m. to service time in the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Gideon's International or Arthritis Foundation.
