Susan Francis Howell, 65 years, passed to heaven on November 12, 2012 at Cox Medical South, Springfield, MO with her family by her side.

Susan was born January 13, 1947 in Key Biscayne, FL to Max and Dorthy (Bass) Segal.

Susan was a resident of Springfield, MO for the past year moving from Boca Raton, FL where she had lived for several years where she had cared for her own mother for the last few years until her passing.


On July 16, 1975 Susan and Tom Howell were united in marriage in Goshen, New York. Susan was a Critical Care Registered Nurse. She had worked in New York, Florida and Missouri and all her licenses were active until her passing. Susan was a Christian. She enjoyed horseback riding and her goal was to ride again in Heaven.

Susan was preceded by her parents and one brother, Elliott Segal.


Susan is survived by her husband, Thomas A. Howell, Springfield, MO, three children and their spouses, Kenneth & Donna Howell, Nixa, MO, Jeff & Melissa Howell, Springfield, MO and Joshua Kreplick, Charleston, South Carolina, six grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and one-on-the way, her little dog, Daisy Mae and other relatives and friends.


Graveside services for Susan will be Thursday, Nov. 15, 2012, 2:00 p.m. at the Denney Cemetery, Ava, MO. Officiating will be Pastor Bob Comer. Services are being conducted by Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, MO. Memorials may be made to any Hospice of the donor's choice.
