Ruth Gentry Ewing

Ruth Gentry Ewing, the daughter of Milton and Mary (Ray) Ross, was born on June 23, 1917 in Del Norte, Colorado and passed away in her home surrounded by her loving family on July 22, 2007 at the age of 90 years and 29 days.
Ruth moved to the Arno area at the age of 9 and was a life-long resident of Ava, MO. She was baptized in Beaver Creek as a young girl. She was faithful to the First General Baptist Church until declining health prevented her from attending.
On May 22, 1934, Ruth and Colman Gentry were united in marriage. They were married 41 years; and during that time, operated a dairy farm west of Ava. Mr. Gentry preceded her in death in 1975.
In 1979 Ruth and Cleo Ewing were married; and for the next 16 years of their retirement, they enjoyed traveling, fishing and gardening.
Ruth was preceded in death by both husbands; an infant son, Joe Leon
Gentry, 2 sisters, Ruby Townlain and Sylvia Bellinger, 2 brothers, Elmer and Edwin Ross, a son-in-law, Ron Johnson; and a granddaughter, Tracy Murphy.
Her Survivors include her 2 daughters, Wanda Murphy and husband Max, Ava, MO and Glenda Johnson, Houston, Texas; 3 Grandchildren, Carla and Leslie Stillings, Ava, MO, Rodney Sexton, NewYork City, NY and Jan and Brent Fleischman, Nixa, MO; 5 Great-Grand Children, Justin & Brandy Stillings, Lance & Mindy Stillings, Kyle & Rayna Stillings and Taylor & Cole Fleischman; 4 Great Great Grand Children, Ally, Railey, Reagan and Kaelyn Stillings.
Ruth had an extended family of special caregivers; Ann, Nita, Venita, Lena, Helen and Beulah.
Services will be 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, July 25 at the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, MO with the Rev. Robert Roberts officiating. Visitation will be 10:00 A.M. until service time. Interment will follow in the Denney Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Denney Cemetery or the Alzheimer's Foundation.
