Theodore L. Gutweiler
1929-2009
Theodore (Ted) Lawrence Gutweiler, 80, Pontiac, MO passed away on October 24, 2009 after a long battle with Leukemia.
He was born on May 15, 1929 in St. Louis, MO.
Ted served in the United States Air Force as a firefighter from July 1946 to July 1949.
Ted was able to combine his love of fishing and hunting with his passion for fire fighting for over 40 years in the Pontiac area. He enjoyed frequent fishing and hunting trips with family and friends for over 30 years in the Pontiac area prior to relocating there upon his retirement in 1994. He was active in the Pontiac - Price Place Fire Department the entire time. He was the Fire Chief from June of 1994 to July of 1998 and a certified firefighter/first responder from 2000 until his health deteriorated.
A Celebration of his life will be held at noon on Saturday, October 31st, 2009 at the Pontiac – Price Place Volunteer Fire Department Station #1.
