Thelma started to work at Baxter Lab at Mountain Home in 1967 and retired after 26 years of service in 1993.
In her younger years, she loved to piece quilts. Many hours were spent sorting fabric and cutting out quilt pieces. Thelma loved working outside. She had a green Thumb and loved to grow flowers in her garden. There was not a weed that survived there for long. One of her neighbors tells the story of Mom coming across the street and asking if she needed help trimming up her shrubbery. She said MOM came back carrying an axe and started chopping off those limbs. The neighbor said she suggested Mom take a rest because she (the neighbor) needed to rest. Thelma had worn her out.
