Thelma Lorene Jones, 95 years, 4 months, 25 days old, passed away April 2, 2018 at her home with her family by her side.

Thelma was born November 8, 1922 in Douglas County, Missouri to Vernon Ora Moore.

Thelma was a Christian and a member of the Girdner First Congregational Methodist Church. She later attended the Sweden First Congregational Methodist Church.

Thelma and Roy Jones were united in marriage on July 18, 1946 in Mtn. Home, Arkansas.

Thelma enjoyed cooking, reading her bible and spending time with her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her mother and her husband, Roy in 2003.

Thelma is survived by her daughters and their spouses, Brenda and Donnie Strong, Connie and Gary Mitchell and Diane and John Young, eight grandchildren, Jeff, Josh, Susan, Dustin, Marty, Brett, Tessa and Kimberly, seventeen great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. Late in life, Thelma became acquainted with some of her half-siblings. She had a special affection for her half-sister, Mary Ruth.

Funeral services for Thelma will be Thursday, April 5, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, MO. Visitation will be Thursday from 10:00 a.m. to service time. Burial will be in the Girdner cemetery. Officiating will be Joshua Strong, grandson and Brock Mitchell, great-grandson. Memorials may be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, Girdner Cemetery or Hospice Compassus.
