Thelma Piland the daughter of Floyd Garner and Radie (James) Garner was born March 25, 1922 in Ozark County, Missouri and departed this life March 8, 2007 at the age of 84 years 11 months and 13 days.
Thelma was a life long resident of the Ava area. Thelma was a homemaker and a member of the Church of Christ. She loved being in the outdoors and delighted in watching her favorite TV shows, Dragnet and Dallas. Thelma also enjoyed calling everybody by their full given name and she loved being with her family.
Thelma was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Dora and Nora and two brothers, Clifford and Earl, one son Gerald. Thelma is survived by two daughters, Judy Roberts, Great Bend, Kansas and Geraldine Lee, Ellinwood, Kansas, two brothers, John Garner and Joe Garner both of Ava, MO, three sisters Geneva High, Derby, Kansas, Virginia Cooper, Enid, Oklahoma, Nancy Parker, Ava, MO. and a host of other relatives and friends.
Services will be 10:00 A.M. Monday, March 12, 2007 in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, MO with Brad Smith officiating. Visitation will be Monday 9:00 A.M. until service time. Interment will follow in the Souder Cemetery.
