Irene Prock

Thelma Irene Prock, 92 years, 7 months, and 11 days old, passed to Heaven on April 28, 2015 at Ava Place with her family by her side.
Irene was born September 17, 1922 in southern Missouri to Viola Hargus. On April 17, 1944 Irene and Merl Prock were united in marriage in Mtn. Home, AR and to this union three children were born.
Irene was a retired owner and operator of Village Inn Café in Ava. She and Merl enjoyed working the café together for several years.
She was a Christian and a member of Walnut Grove General Baptist Church.
She was also a member of The Order of the Eastern Star, Almartha Chapter. She enjoyed working in her home, fishing, hunting trips with Merl, Rondo and Virginia and most of all being with her children and grandchildren.
Irene was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Merl in 2002, a brother, Sam Hargus and son-in-law, Bob Barnum.
Irene is survived by three children, Kay Prock Barnum, Ava, MO, Bruce Prock and wife, Sandra, Roger Prock and wife, Nancy, all of Newnan, Georgia, seven grandchildren, Scott Butler, Bruce Montgomery Prock, Joshua Barnum, Sarah Prock Bobbitt, Andy Prock, Jacob Prock and Joel Prock, eight great-grandchildren, Brandt Butler, Chloe Barnum, Reid Barnum, Alexandra Prock, Madeline Prock, Brooke Bobbitt, Jonathan Bobbitt and Jaxson Bobbitt, many nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Irene will be Monday, May 4, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. in the Clinkingbeard Chapel, Ava, with burial in the Ava Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 1:00 p.m. to service time in the funeral home. Officiating will be Pastor Robert Roberts and Pastor James Hathcock. Memorials may be made in lieu of flowers to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
